Can’t sign into google on os9/classilla

I don’t know why this is happening even after I enabled java.
Google displays an error message when I try to sign into gmail. It says JavaScript is disabled or turned off.
Is it even still possible to sign into google with this browser?

I found how to sign in, by clicking the S at the bottom of the screen and enabling JavaScript on the sign in page.
Can anyone help me get hangouts working in OS 9 though?

Wow. I'm impressed you succeeded at signing into Gmail at all.

Getting Hangouts to work would also be very surprising. On Tiger/Leo, with TenFourFox, the furthest I get is getting text to work, but no calls.

In OS 9, with the Firefox 30x user agent, hangouts does attempt to load, but doesnt finish loading and doesnt show any messages. Using IceweaselPPC in tiger, I can get text to work fine with patience on my 400mhz imac with just 256mb of ram.
