Can't software update on imac

Hi,

For some weird reason I can't connect to app store or update software.

When I click on the option nothing happens at all, I've tried updating from the Software Update icon in system preferences and the pull down menu...nothing happens.

Any help??

Find the App Store application and double click on it.

Log into the App Store and go to the "Updates" tab on the top of the application. You should see the updates there.

Tried all these it whenever I click on anything to connected with the app store or software update I get nothing. the app store icon is missing from my dock aswell (i'm running 10.8.2)

The app store icon is not in the app folder either.

Do you have a time machine backup or clone where you can check for the App Store application from an earlier time?

If you don't have a TM backup, you may have to consider a re-install of OSX. There are several ways to do this without losing your data:
