Install Term-vt100, type "passwd", and change the password to whatever you want.

Yea that worked, but i'm really trying to get into change icons. And customize it. I can ssh in successfully, and change directories, but I've been searching all over and I can't find either CLEAR instructions on how to put files from the computer into the directory. or how to take off the default files incase i need them. It always rejects the put file command. Is there a GUI drag and drop method for this?

Your favorite sFTP programs, like Transmit on the Mac or WinFTP, are GUI.

stupid question...BUT have you made sure that open SSH is enabled on your iphone? if you can log in fine on terminal then it sounds like you have turned off SSH on your phone when you are trying to connect externally

If he can access via Terminal then SSH is on. I think he's just FTPing incorrectly. As has been mentioned, make sure you are doing sFTP.

You (the OP) might try an alternate program like Transmit or CyberDuck. FYI It might be called Secure FTP, and not just sFTP.

PS. From a security standpoint, in addition to changing your password you should also use Toggle or Services (Toggle messed up my phone so until there is a 1.1.2 friendly version I'm running Services) to turn off SSH when you don't need it. An added benefot is that having SSH off greatly extends your battery life.

i was having the same problem at first using WinSCP

i went into my SSH in my phone and changed the password there, then I tried it again after rebooting it and it worked fine.

i didn't have the right username when sftping that was my problem. the correct name is root for those having issues.
