Hi all, I'm on a MacBook Pro (14 inch Nov 2024) Sequoia 15.6.1

on battery The screen completely dims itself after a few minutes of inactivity , its a really dark dim where you can't use the system or really read anything on the screen and as soon as I put my finger on the trackpad to do something the screen comes back to its normal brightness.

Under system preferences, battery I have 'slightly dim...' unchecked. but that didn't fix it, but i did see what that does which is not what my issue is.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is it a bug?

here is the output of pmset

~ % pmset -g

Why not start by updating to the latest Sequoia (15.7.2)? Is there a reason to be on 15.6?

I just checked and saw there is an update to 15.7.2 and also an update to Tahoe 26.1 - should I just update to Tahoe?

I would try updating to 15.7.2 first and see if that resolves your problem, and later consider whether you want to update to Tahoe or not. There's quite a lot of discussion in the forums about the pros and cons of that, so you might want to read up a bit first.
