All 1.82 GB downloaded but do NOT get the pop-up window indicating a restart required to complete the installation!!

Have never experienced this issue/glitch before!

Any suggestions/direction as to resolution?

Thanks.

I got the restart prompt, but it's been stuck with the progress bar at about 10% and saying "Installing software update: about a minute" for the last 15-20 minutes. What to do?
[doublepost=1553622917][/doublepost]It finally got through that progress bar, followed by two more much faster ones and now another one came up saying 42 minutes remaining.

To answer your question, and going from memory - in the update window there's a button in the upper right corner. It said something like install or update. I clicked on it and a pull down menu gave me the option to install. Maybe it said install now.

I tried doing the "combo" first. Did the download, and my MBP restarted several times, but apparently did NOT correctly process the security update, and only installed the Safari update. So, I tried again on the security update, and it appears to have installed correctly on the second attempt.

mac_in_tosh ? TomH TX :

Thank you both for your input. Was finally able to successfully install the update! Followed a tip received from MacInWin (Jake) at MacForums. Booted while holding down the option key and choosing Internal drive from the options list.

Kindly add the customary "RESOLVED" to the title of your thread for the benefit of all readers.
I share your satisfaction.

Based on the thread title, I'm assuming the security update you are referring to is 2019-002?
I currently have 2019-001 but have not gotten any update notification for 002 on the app store.

This update is again showing up as available in the App Store. I thought I just did it ???

I experienced the same thing yesterday after installing the downloadable version. I did a search and there was one site where a poster said there was a new update (17G6030) but there was no other confirmation and on the Apple sites, all I saw was the March 25, 2019 download (17G6029). This morning, the Wikipedia page does list the 17G6030 build with a date of March 29, 2019. So the update after the update that is showing up is probably this 17G6030 build. I did not have a problem with the earlier update on my 2012 MBP. I didn't do the new update after it showed up because I need to apply the update to a couple of computers and would rather wait until the Apple page shows the March 29 date.

UPDATE: Apple sites are now updated to reflect March 29 build.

UPDATE 2: The download page for the Security Update, which other sites are linking to as having the March 29 update still (as of the moment I'm writing this) has the March 25 update and indeed, has not been changed (I just downloaded it).

UPDATE 3: The download page now has the March 29 update. Maybe the old version was cached from before - I don't think so as all the other pages about the update were properly updated.

Apple released two different 2019-002 Security updates, 17G6029 and 17G6030 shortly after. I guess they messed up the first 1 and quickly released the second one to cover it up! Apple is getting worse than Microsoft with all these security updates, undoubtedly to fix what mistakes they have made.
