Hi

I have had the iPad for a few months now. Today I read that ios 4.2 was out, so attempted to connect it to my Mac for the first time to carry out the upgrade (until now I've been content to download Apps through the Apps store and all has been fine)

Anyway to cut a long story short after connecting to iTunes the Apps have transferred over to my library fine, but on attempting the upgrade it just sits at Backing up.... for hours with the status bar about 5% complete and never moving.

any ideas welcome, thanks

Ok so no responses this time but

I thought I'd report back. Patience is indeed a virtue and after a seven hour backup the actual upgrade only took a couple of minutes.

So have faith. I can also confirm that subsequent backups are much faster, :)
