can't sync contacts.....?

just plugged my new iPad into my macbook to sync up calendars and contacts. calendar events synced fine but i can't for the life of me get my contacts to sync.

it says it does, no errors, but there are zero contacts in my contacts on my iPad....

what gives?!?!

i have "sync contacts" clicked in itunes and it says "all contacts"


help!!!

Try going into your settings and turn [off] contacts from your iCloud account. Wait about 10 seconds and turn [on] contacts from your iCloud account.

I don't have an iCloud account. I just want. My contacts from my address book on my MacBook to go to my contacts on my iPad...

Everything works when I sync my iPhone, just not the new iPad
