Can't toggle battery percentage off

This is on an iPhone 5. I don't want the status bar to show the battery percentage so I tried to toggle it off in the settings ( Usage>Battery Usage ). Except when I toggle it to 'Off' there's no change and the battery percentage is still in the status bar. Has anyone had this problem? Any solutions?

Turn % off then hard reset straight after, might iron out that little bug.

Did you just "turn it off" or "hard reset"? Hard reset you need to keep hold of the Home Button and the Power off button.
