Can't update Jailbroken apple TV (or connect to iTunes)

Hi,

I jailbroke my Apple TV so that I could run Plex on it, however since getting Netflix I have no real need for Plex in the bedroom and would like to update my ATV.

If I try to update it says no updates available, if I try to restore it says it cannot connect to the update servers. I'm pretty sure I changed something in the hosts file to block updates but can't figure out how to undo that.

I've also tried plugging it directly into the Macbook via USB, but it won't recognise the device and isn't showing in iTunes.

Any ideas please?

Sorry, managed to resolve this by running:

cp /etc/hosts.bak /etc/hosts

It replaced the hosts file with the old backed up one, and the Apple TV is now updating 🙂
