Cant update to Catalina from 10.11.6 (Download button not working)

I just formatted my MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2015) and I've currently got El Capitan 10.11.6.

Now that I want to install Catalina, I head to AppStore and press "Download" on Catalina, but then nothing happens. I've got nothing in my program folder aswell. When I change tab in AppStore after pressing download, the button becomes clickable again. I click, and nothing happens.

Tried restarting the computer too, didn't work.

Does anyone know what's wrong? This is starting to get really annoying.

If your latest OS was Catalina, then you can download and install it from recovery as well.
Follow the steps from here.

It was, but then I formated the SSD and removed everything, and then I used internet recovery and it somehow installed El Capitan, and now I'm stuck with it.

OK. Reboot your system and press Option-⌘-R, in order to upgrade to the latest macOS that is compatible with your Mac.

Did that, same problem. Maybe it's because I'm not logged in to the apple store? Maybe you cant update without being logged in?

There are two forms of Internet Recovery. One gets you the earliest version that can run on that Mac (and is still available), the other gets you the latest supported version that your Mac can run. It sounds like you're invoking the former.

I have that exact same 13" MacBook Pro and did this just a month and a half ago. Albeit, I was installing 10.15.5 and not 10.15.6, but it still worked just the same.

If all else fails try using this link: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT210190 to update to Mojave (step 4) and then upgrade to Catalina.

Option-⌘-R
Upgrade to the latest macOS that is compatible with your Mac.

Shift-Option-⌘-R
Reinstall the macOS that came with your Mac, or the closest version still available.

I believe these key combos started working after installation of macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or later.
