Cant upgrade to 10.12.2

Everytime I launch the app store the beachball spins forever and I have to force quit the app. I have rebooted the Mac and still the same problem meaning I cannot upgrade to 10.12.2. Any suggestions? Thanks..

Skip the App Store app.

Try going to this page:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1900?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Download the 10.12.2 combo updater directly to your desktop.

Update from there.

For others that come here you can also do from terminal ...

List Updates
softwareupdate -l

Install Updates
sudo softwareupdate -iva
