Can't use Calendar and Reminder

Hi all can somebody help here.
I can no longer make any entries in Calendar and Reminder. There are no buttons for this and by touching the screen below in calendar nothing happens.
Everything is turned on in Notifications.
Am I missing something here?
Running latest iOS 6 on a 3GS.

Have you tried resetting your iPhone? (Hold Power & Home buttons simultaneously, letting go of both when you see the apple on the black screen.)

Have you switched icloud off for calendar and notes? Try putting it back on.
