Can't use recovery, can you help?

Hi Guys, my 27" iMac is not starting up. I see the apple and the circle.

My mac went to sleep with VM (windows) on, and it did not start again...

When I start it with CMD + R, I don't see the utilities. Instead I get a black screen, a planet and it asks me to choose an internet connection, which I do. Then i's downloading something for a few minutes. After that it goes black!

Any help please?
