Can't Verify or Repair Disk!

I just tried to verify my HDD, and Disk Utility said:
Invalid node structure.
Volume check failed.
Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed.

Now when I tried to reboot my Macbook, the gray Apple comes up and so does the spinning wheel, but after a couple of minutes, it shuts down.

Please help!

Try running the tools from the OS DVD.

Sometimes the repairs cannot be performed from within the OS.

It's possible your HDD is corrupted or failing; can you hear the HDD?
