Give me a break. You guys keep calling "ripoff" on anything remotely resembling an apple product. Do you think apple invented aluminum cases? How many ways do you really think there are for designing an all-in-one these days?

Ive heard "copycat" called on this and the vizio, both of which look as different as possible, given the fact it's still just a screen and base-stand hiding computer components. Yet somehow, to this apple-owner-centric forum, they're both ripoffs.

I love apple design, but lets not do the "fanboi" thing.

I ask you, why must everyone do what Apple does? That's the problem.

Don't act like this AIO is not trying to resemble an iMac just to get the attention of the less informed consumer or "well it looks like an iMac" consumer.

I would like to see something other than aluminum. Are colors dead these days? Even a brushed gun metal color would look sweet.

I'm arguing that companies just seem to follow suit cuz Apple is the status quo and other people are just perpetuating it. I love Apple products for everything they stand for but there needs to be better competition for innovation to happen, or else things become stale, which seems to be happening these days.

Having an all-in-one look much different would be hard, the trackpad and keyboard however are a blatant attempt to cash in. But they will be behind the times once apple release the new iMac, wether to comes in the next month or the next 6 months

This rig looks absolutely *nothing* like the iMac because the USB ports are in the neck; not the display.

hahaha yep! I wonder when Samsung will make their first car based off the looks of a farrari but give it 3 headlights just to say it is their own design

----------

Is HP STUPID? After what happened to Samsung for blatant copying you would think others would learn! Oh well HP computers generally suck so I guess it won't damage Apple too much.

----------

Is it aluminum? It looks like a cheap plastic ripoff...

It would be plastic for sure otherwise the PC population would start to realise the cost of aluminium in computers and start questioning their tech religious comments.

----------

It looks nice but where is all the power going to come from when its that thin?

I'm sure they have researched the iMac enough to make it work ;)

please get a picture of the Apple trackpad and put it beside the one in this HP image. Please get a picture of the Apple keyboard and put it beside the one in this image. Please get a picture of the mac book air and put it beside the base of the HP image. Please get a picture of the Apple display and put it beside the display in this image. No need to apologise :)

I'm sorry but when you have comment sections on sites like Engadget and The Verge ripping HP you know it's bad. Most of the posters there are anti-Apple. Especially "fanbois" as you call them.

Looking at the pictures on Engadget, the mouse looks like a design ripoff as well. Doesn't seem like it is touch sensitive, and they did add a button to it.

The screen has a crazy amount of glare. Presumably the new iMacs will have reduced glare.

I'll reserve comment until I see one in person.

However I will qualify that by saying ...

HP up to this point has not manufactured a Windows machine in its CONSUMER line worth owing.

Outside the consumer line may be a different story, I have not dealt with that line in many years.

I'll also add that the best part of the $3,500 HP Omnibook series from years ago was the Three Year Warranty.

At the time Omnibooks were selling for $3,500 .... their consumer crap Paviliion line was in the $1,000 - $1,500 range.

This has absolutely no resemblance to the 2011 iMac. For Christ's sake, let the printer company build their desktops, it has nothing to do with the telephone company's desktops.

If you want to see a true, "OG" iMac ripoff google eMachine. I mean come on, nothing even remotely compares.

While it looks good, and enough to be separated from the iMac, that keyboard is a very blatant copy of Vizio's and the Trackpad looks 100% indentical to the Magic Mouse

I might pick one of these up for Windows 8 though, if I can manage the money that is.

Are you sure you didn't mean to write this in brail?
