Hello,

I bought a late 2015 27 inch 5k iMac and with it of course I got a Magic Keyboard. I've been using it for almost two weeks and I've noticed the caps lock key has a very very high fail rate. I'll push it and it just doesn't do anything. I've noticed it really only happens when pushing it fast, like when I'm typing. If I hold it down it works just fine.

If you have a Magic Keyboard can you please press caps lock a couple of times and tell me its working as you'd expect. I'm trying to see if its a wide spread issue or not. If its not I'll probably drive out to the Apple Store and get it replaced. If it is wide spread its probably not worth risking getting another bad keyboard for something I use minimally.

Thank You.

EDIT: I know know that this is a so called feature. Apple doesn't want me to accidentally press the caps lock key, as if its any more important then accidentally pressing any one of the other keys

Since they all do it, it looks like a feature, not a bug.

Did some googling... You're right this is a so called feature
Apple said:
If the Media Eject key or Caps Lock key doesn't work
Try holding down the key longer. These keys have a slight delay to prevent them from being pressed accidentally. Hold down the Media Eject key until the Media Eject icon appears on your screen, and hold down the Caps Lock key until the key’s indicator light lights up.

What a ****** feature. If I'm pressing the key thats suppose to mean I'm pressing the ****ing key.

After I saw the video all I can do is shake my head... In the video you are not pressing the key like someone would normally press the key.

This is my 2013 MBA (which I consider to be in perfect working condition). I would recommend taking some Ritalin or learn to type like normal person.

So sorry. I hope this video is up to your very high online forum standard. Also don't complain that I'm pushing the keys to hard, I had to accommodate for the tripod.

I wouldn't be used to that feature as I use Windows computers. I think this could frustrate a new Mac/Magic keyboard user.

Yes thats me! I just got my first Mac almost two weeks ago. And this is kinda bothersome. I keep pushing it then what I type just isn't capital as I expected it to be.

You don't have to use a Magic Keyboard, or any Apple keyboard for that matter. There are lots of third party keyboards that will work. Even a PC keyboard will work.

Naw I'm not going that far for the caps lock key. The Magic Keyboard is the best keyboard I've ever used.
