Posting here as I think you guys will have the best chance of knowing whether or not this will actually work...
I have a work PC that has recently had RDP disabled by the IT overlords. As a result I have a second monitor. Partner is about to work from home too so can't fit a third. Our iMac has its permanent space on the desk secured.
I'd like to use a capture card to take the HDMI output of the work laptop, and run into the iMac so I can view my windows PC in a window, and then use my Logitech MX Keys / Master to quickly switch between the PC and Mac for control.
- will it work?
- will it be clear / smooth enough with no latency?
- what software is needed?
- what capture card will do the job without being overkill?
I've asked AI... not spending the money for it to go "Oh you're right it'll be X you need and Y won't work because Z"
