Anybody with a new 27" 2017 iMac, running Capture One Pro 10.x.x, willing to share their experiences.

I use it on my Late 2012 iMac 27. Works very very well under heavy use > 100 raw images per session.

I would think it would fly on a new iMac.

I run it on a late 2012 21" iMac and do have some spinning balls now that I am using the Tangent Element devices for adjustments.. The new 10.2 version runs a bit better.. I am asking these questions as I want to upgrade to a 27" but the heated (no pun intended) discussions about the i7 7700k is pushing me back towards the iMac Pro..So, I like to know how the current 2017 27" with a i7 CPU is behaving with the current Capture One..

Oh I see where you're coming from now. Really though, the spec difference between the '12 and '17 iMacs are worlds better for the new models. Either of them, or the Pro, would be well suited to using C1P.

I just started a trial today.... it seems to render fine detail better than LR but has a smoother look to the renderings - seems to smooth noise a little better. Am I wearing my rose tinted specs or do you guys find that too?

I did the trial a while back and found the RAW processing to be great, the editing tools very refined, but the DAM capability lacking, at least compared to LR. Perhaps, I'm spoiled but I find the use of smart albums to be a great tool, and LR offers a lot of flexibility in that area where as C1 wasn't as robust.

Understood, there are quite some discussions about the DAM issues, but my question was tailored towards the interaction between the new 27" iMac with the i7 and the C1P.. For the record, I love the C1P in particular with the Tangent Element devices...However, because of the simultaneous adjustment features a higher CPU demand is induced... Just want to have a feel whether the i7 can handle this without the heating issues...

I cant see any reason why not. My Z1 sounds like a hovercraft when it heats up and so far trialing C1P I havent heard them going excessively.

I use the Sony Pro version on a 2012 Macbook Pro and a 5,1 Mac Pro(6 core). No issues and love it! Prefer it over Lightroom and don't have any issues.
