Capturing the northern lights iPhone 7plus

Hello,

I just got my iPhone Plus Black and I know the camera is way better.
Now my Girlfriend lives in Iceland and I am going there once a month. Happy me , because the northern lights are active and I really wanna capture them with my iPhone.

My question to you as experts is.

Are you able to capture the Northen Lights with iPhone 7 plus camera? Or do you have a special photo app for that?

I'm not a professional photographer but I know a little bit. I do suggest you buy a 3rd party app cuz you need to control your shutter speed to capture the northern lights. Still you could try the stock app. Also practice with it before hand.

and get a support of some sort like a tripod or mini tripod and smartphone holder... you cannot hand hold a phone that good in that light.
