capturing video from a webcam

is there a free program like snapz pro., that can capture video on your screen?
 
Your title and post are contradictory, do you want to capture from the webcam or from the desktop (like a screencast)?
 
I use iShowU HD, but you can just go into QuickTime and select File > New Screen Recording.
