I need to get a car charger for my macbook but I'm struggling a bit. There seems to be standards like PD and QC but I don't know if these are required or supported for charging the macbook.
As far as I understand the charger is 29W at 14V - I'd like to get this in a car charger format but I haven't found anything. Is there a car charger on the market that will deliver this? If not, what's the second best?

Most car chargers will deliver only 15W, which is a standard USB output. USB-PD is what you should look for. QC is a Qualcomm proprietary quick charging standard that Apple does not adhere to, so a QC charger won’t charge a MacBook any faster than a normal car charger. Look for USB-PD and you will likely get 15W charging. 29W is an Apple proprietary setting that is not technically within the USB-PD standard but some plug-in chargers will provide that.

I have been using this for about half a year now. Not for in a car but in our 12V solar system.
Very pleased, no problems so far.

I would get an DC-to-AC power inverter instead.

Here's one at Amazon.

One benefit is that it can be used for other things.

I bought a Coleman branded model about ten years ago. While they no longer in this line of business, it has been useful from time to time.

The recent ones are more compact than what I have.
