Because your car was made prior to 1996 you can check the codes yourself without a scanner tool.

I would replace your spark plug wires to try and fix your rough idle/hesitation problem. Once that's fixed move on to your heating issue.

yup, gaps were good

think its bad cables?

i feel its unlikely its the distributer as it was working fine before i changed plugs

Maybe I bent, pulled the wire accidentally on the ignition cables

As a rule on older cars when you replace the plugs you need to replace the distributer and the distributer cap.

Newer cars no longer use a distributer.

You may also want to bleed the air out of your cooling system.

Did the OP try this yet? This happened on my car about 5 years ago. I bled the air out and the heat worked perfectly.

I'm having the same issue now, but I've been too lazy to bleed the air. I suppose I'll get around to it some day.

That is not true at all. Distributors generally last the lifetime of car. If they go bad they are expensive to replace. Distributor Cap & Rotor are cheap and it's a good idea to replace them every 100K miles.

Is it still running rough and hesitating?

Yes

I have now replaced the spark pugs again with the OEM parts and the wires and ignition cable

Thanks but even the dealership couldn't figure it out

The code scaner outputted like 20 codes going off, mainly the codes for too lean AND too rich:confused:

They did say that my exhaust had a high % of ethanol though

I wonder if I had put in E85 on accidnet now though I swear I havent

Well, if it's running rough, then chances are it's missing. And if it's missing, then chances are there's un-spent fuel in your exhaust, which is why it's showing that code, I think.

A vacuum leak would throw codes and would cause rough running/loss of power. A bad throttle position sensor would cause rough starts and some of the same symptoms as a vacuum leak. Was it running good before you changed the plugs and wires?

What were some of the codes it threw?

Threw codes 25 and 26....too lean and too rich air/fuel mistures

If it throws both at the same time you need a new O2 sensor(s). They are relatively cheap at most discount auto parts places. Bosch is a good one to get.
