When my iPhone is connected to the car radio, my battery widget (and the status icon row along the top of the home page) show a battery level for "Car Receiver" that is always 100%.

What is this status for? Is this my car battery's actual status? Or is this just some sort of error and it shouldn't be displayed?

I think it’s an error. This happens to me too on a Bluetooth receiver that sits in the cigarette lighter. Obviously it’ll have full “battery” when it’s plugged in as it only works when it’s plugged in so it shouldn’t display the battery level

Your car receiver is broadcasting a battery level.
