Carbon Copy Cloner question

I've used CCC for the first time, to make a backup of my Mac Pro boot drive, in the event of a complete failure. Namely, to be able to get right back up and running from where I am now.

So I chose the ASR option, and I ended up with 2 files:

xxxx_asr.002.dmgpart
xxxx_asr.dmg

The CCC docs don't explain this part very well. Do I need to keep both of these files? If I want recreate my hard drive, what do I do?

Yes, you need both of these files. To restore your backup open up Disk Utility and choose the Scan Image for Restore... option. I've never done this before but this should set in motion the process of restoring the contents of the disk image (which is split into 2 files, hence the dmg and the 002.dmgpart files).
