Anyone with some info on the card reader issue after updating fw?
I got two different card readers that worked perfectly before fw update, now none of them does :(

There should be a update in cydia for this...
Just start cydia and a message will tell you to install it...

The OP also posted on one of the CCK threads in the iPad Hacks subforum (link).

I assume he is using a third party reader that draws too much power. Apple decreased the power available to connectors from 100mA to 20mA in iOS 4.2. I'm not sure how to help though. Sorry OP.

Are you using an official CCK? If you are using a third party one which draws too much current then it will not work as of yet, even jailbroken.

Yes, its a third party,
I think i get it, apple are bitter cause they had to remove their spyware, and now its like, if u wont let us spy on you we will take away something if u decide to uppgrade against our original will ;)
Reducing power instead of increasing is the oposite of improvement, cause nobody cant convince me that 100mv was an issue and drained the battery so they had to reduce it with 80%
im starting to learn the grumpy style apple opperates with now, its our way or the highway, thats the downside with apple products, they never seems to grow up :-/

That sucks :(. I would have hated to pay for something to have it not work later. I have heard that someone is working on a fix (for jailbroken iPads) to let devices draw 100mA like they used to. Someone said something to that nature in one of the CCK threads in the iPad Hacks subforum (Here is a link to that post). Who knows if they will finish it or when it might come out though.

The output current was limited in 4.2. The spyware you talk about (I am assuming it's the location services you're referring to), wasn't spyware, but the issue was fixed with 4.3.3, well after the power draw was dropped.

Thats strange, cause i was on 4.3.1 before i uppdated to 3.3, and then it worked just fine...
Anyway to revert back to 4.3.1?

Did you save your SHSH blobs (either through TinyUmbrella or directly in Cydia) before upgrading?

We use a 500-in-1 USB card reader connected to the Camera Connection Kit (we use compact flash cards in our camera, hence the need for a card reader instead of the SD connection kit).

I think it's Targus brand. It was the cheapest at the store, so nothing special.

It continues to work fine under the lates firmware.

Can anyone confirm if the official camera connection kit SD card reader still doesn't work after the recent 4.3.3 update?

I doubt they've fixed it but I'm trying to decide if I should update to 4.3.3 or just jailbreak now!

My iPad Camera Connection Kit works just fine under 4.3.3. Haven't updated to 4.3.4 yet though.

I suspect you have to connect it through the official Apple camera connection kit which has a USB connection.

Amazing, so two card readers togheter draws less than 20mv than just one...
Still sceptic since it says Usb powered, and usb power is much higher than 20mv, it doesnt add upp.
Also it would be very expensive and clumpsy if you have to connect a bunch of card readers to each other :-/

Okay, i believe you, but then i could just plug the whole camera into the "kit" instead, then i wont have to take the card in and out all the time, even better, i dont need Cf card reader?
