Card readers on the Audio to lightning dongle

Does anyone have any idea if the card readers that use the audio port would work with the lightning dongle?

This is important for my sustenance.

Just to let anyone who might be reading this, a few days ago David Pogue tweeted that the card readers did work with the 3.5 to lightning dongle.

Just confirmed this myself now, with an iZettle reader. It works.
