If APPL is not working hard on an AI I would like to see MS Bing AI replace Google as the default search engine in iOS. Google would have to spend some big bucks to keep it's spot on iOS. (LOL)
DuckDuckGo too!I use DuckDuckGo so I don't like either.![]()
DuckDuckgo also
That link does not support the assertion...Didn’t they get caught censoring results?
Yup
That link does not support the assertion...
According to Brave "Chief of Search":
"We do not aim to index the whole Web, rather only the Web that is worth indexing."
Um, that is for which browser to use, not which search engine. And most of those complaints pale in comparison to the alternatives. So...DDG is it for now.Didn’t they get caught censoring results?
Yup
WYM?Couldn't get past the random use the ticker symbols instead of company names sprinkled throughout this post.

Plus some of these are just weird. Of course DDG uses Bing, but they only return the result and you are not tracked. I see they leave that part out. As an example. I don't care to really critique the rest as I have better things to do and what is the alternative? Google? LOL. Bing? LOL. That's all Firefox has. Google, Bing, and DDG.
Umm, from the article you posted:Its a search engine

Brave Search
Search the Web. Privately. Truly useful results, AI-powered answers, & more. All from an independent index. No profiling, no bias, no Big Tech.search.brave.com
As a grown man I don’t like some tech dorks, many who don’t even human very well in the first place, censoring what I can and can't see when I search
So far brave is about the best I’ve found
DuckDuckGo DQed themselves when they started censoring, of course they arnt bad as google, that’s nearly impossible, but they censor none the less
Umm, from the article you posted:
“When comparing DuckDuckGo vs Brave, the Slant community recommends Brave for most people. In the question“What are the best Android web browsers?” Brave is ranked 5th while DuckDuckGo is ranked 11th. The most important reason people chose Brave is:
Released to the community under the Mozilla Public License (MPL), this software respect the FSF's four freedoms, including the freedom to use, modify, and redistribute with or without modification freely.”
Anyway, they all censor. That is the point of an algorithm. Anyway, DuckDuckGo DQed themselves in your case. They didn’t in my case.![]()
Isn't curation like... the opposite of censorship? To curate something is to include or exhibit an item. And to censor something is to exclude or prohibit it.And that worth is dictated by whom?
Curation is simply censorship
Self righteous tech bros will be the death of us all

Yes, but my point remains. In the article you chose (which isn't even an article but just an unvetted list of comments. But I digress...) it says android web browser. Plain and simple.DDG activity is censoring based on politics, brave does not 🤷♂️
To each their own
And it’s a search engine, doesn’t matter what browser you’re using, I’ve used brave search on windows, Mac & linux

And I would argue that curation and censorship are definitely close in nature. But we dscriminate or curate all day long. I want this food over this other food. I don't like that book.
Fair enough, now show me how to add it to Firefox.Isn’t any article just opinions?
My point was, as was mentioned in the link, DDG got caught censoring when people were searching stuff on the UKE/RUS war, that’s the kiss of death for a search engine for me
I can always scroll past something I don’t want to read, I’m a big boy lol, but when the search engines make things disappear that’s more nefarious
Fair enough, now show me how to add it to Firefox.Guess I'll stick with DDG.
