CarPlay and Message Notifications

Hi guys,

since I upgraded to iOS 26 I get message notifications on CarPlay (on car display like before the upgrade) but the messages are not automatically read anymore, and I have to open them manually.

All other stuff (phone calls, message dictation and so on) works like before.

Is there any solution? Thx.

I had the same issue when I upgraded to iOS 26 last September. In my case, it was a setting in the Siri settings.

Go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > Announce Notifications > CarPlay.

Make sure Announce Messages is ON, and set the When CarPlay Starts to Announce New Messages.

Thx and done. This was the right hint. 🫡 For this, I got the message to activate Siri in lock screen.
