CarPlay + HomeKit = Please Unlock iPhone...

I cannot shut or open my HomeKit garage door simply using Siri with CarPlay without unlocking my iPhone first...

Is there any fix for this?

If you go into settings on your phone and go into carplay, there's a toggle to allow carplay/siri to work without unlocking the phone. Hopefully that's the fix. But if it's already set, then I'm not sure what may be causing the problem.
