Right now my car doesn’t have CarPlay but it has modern Bluetooth. iOS correctly identifies that it is my car and will trigger reminders as well as travel times when it is connected. It will also save my cars location in maps.

My wife is thinking of getting a car with CarPlay. Here is my question if I plug into her car when I occasionally drive it, what will iOS do with that information? Will it save the location of both cars? Will it only save the location of my car (because that was the original car saved to it or will it disregard my car with a preference for CarPlay), how will it handle two cars being connected to one phone?

Anyone with first-hand knowledge please let me know. I would love to utilize CarPlay when I drive her car but I don’t want to mess up the set up and functionality that I have going with my car since I drive that daily.

CarPlay in iOS saves your car/head unit like a 'list of devices'. For location, I would think to the last car you drove/plugged into would be saved/parked only. Until, you go to drive the other car and park it. Not sure, if it's that smart to know both saved location at the same time, sorry. I don't worry about location. Unless, you're trying to be sneaky so your wife doesn't know where you've been, haha. ;)

Very interesting. I’ve never had CarPlay, so I’m not familiar with the intricacies.

This is helpful though.
