Hi

I know that iPad doesn't have Carplay support but is there anything I can do to change that? Jailbreak, 3rd party apps etc?

Is the issue that you want to use your iPad in place of an iPhone to supply data to an existing CarPlay electronics head in your car? If yes, then the issue is really that CarPlay doesn't have support for iPad. The only way that you could get around that is for your iPad to 1) identify itself to CarPlay as an iPhone model, and 2) have the necessary software frameworks on the iPad to communicate with CarPlay. I think that the odds of either of those being achievable are pretty slim, and taken together almost impossible. If it were achievable it would certainly require jailbreaking.

There are 3 options that do not involve jailbreaking
1. get a cheap used iPhone and get service on it
2. If you have an iPhone but can not use its cellular connection than use wireless hotspot from a cellular iPad or MIFI or Android device using whatever data plan is suitable
3. Get an iPhone that can be your primary phone with a suitable service plan including a suitable level of data.

I have seen a prepaid iPhone SE for as little as $149 and their cheapest smart phone plan is $30 which includes 500MB of data.

Hi

It has to be an iPad unfortunately.
What can be done to achieve one of these options:
1) identify itself to CarPlay as an iPhone model, and
2) have the necessary software frameworks on the iPad to communicate with CarPlay
