It just stopped working this morning. I tried two different cables (which do charge my phone) and reset my factory unit.

What should I try next before going to the dealership?

I did update to 14.5 a few days ago and it had been working fine with CarPlay.

Two different phones and three different cables.

Phone will charge when using the USB port.

Im at the dealership now having them look at it.

Hopefully that can fix it for you, or maybe there is a SW or firmware update for the head unit.

When having multiple parties involved, Honda for the car and head unit, and Apple for the CarPlay software, it is just too easy for them to blame each other when things don't work.

This is one reason why I am not looking forward to the rumored port-less iPhone, as it could instantly break CarPlay for many people with wired CarPlay. Even if there is some wireless adapter, for the people with wired CarPlay, if there is problems with it, Apple and the vehicle manufacturers will just point fingers at each other when it comes to fixing it.

Two different phones
Did the different phones have different OS versions?

Dealership got it recognized using a third 14.5 device. They admitted they are not sure what fixed it.

Now, 14.5.1 won‘t read text messages. It also won’t read back what I want to send someone.
This really stinks.

I was having a problem with my 11 Pro Max and Carplay in both my 2019 Rogue and a Kenwood Carplay radio. Siri would cut off mid sentence or you could not even hear texts being read back. I ended up trying a different Siri voice which I thought helped at first. Finally, I reset the radio and "forgot" the cars in Carplay, and it is back to normal so far.

I changed the voice, deactivated Siri, did a hard reset on my phone, and restarted Siri. It is still working 24 hours later.

I determined it was Siri and not CarPlay. The issue would continue when I was in my office using the device.

Perhaps we will see a true fix in the next IOs release?
