I have a 5s ME342LL/A that was with VZ but also works with TMO and AT&T as it appears to be both CDMA + GSM unlocked.

My question is will a Verizon SE model be both CDMA + GSM unlocked like the 5s? (i.e. MLM02LL/A)
OR
Would one need a 'Fully Unlocked' model i.e. MLLX2LL/A

To add to the confusion some sellers say all A1662 SE model are both CDMA + GSM, however I have seen some state theirs is only GSM unlocked. And some say "locked to Verizon". I have read that VZ starting last June does lock their phones but they are automatically unlocked after 60 days.

I would like to purchase an SE and have the option to use with any of the 3 carriers mentioned.

Why not wait tell iPhone 9 or SE 2 too come out. On mar 31st

has far has the iPhone SE gos iOS updated are coming too a end. It may get iOS 14. But may not get iOS 15.

if you can wait tell the iPhone 9 in late March you be set to go with iOS updates for a while

The SE sells for about $125 (w/ warranty) and many come with iOS10, 11 or 12. Either OS is new enough for my needs (email, texts & mostly as a phone).

The SE2 is larger than I need for the intended uses.

A Verizon mdl A1662 SE MLM02LL/A will be CDMA and GSM unlocked. However if it was financed without being paid off, it may be unable to be used on Verizon. https://www.techwalls.com/iphone-se-model-numbers-a1662-a1723-a1724-differences/ explains the different model numbers. I would recommend that you ask the seller for the IMEI number prior to purchase and check the SWAPPA IMEI website, https://swappa.com/esn It is also a good idea to check the Bring your own device (BYOD) website for each carrier. Checking each carrier will show if they will allow that IMEI number onto their network.
