Carrier Carrier Update for AT&T

I just received a notification that there was a carrier update available for my phone. I have an iPhone 5S. I installed it, but got no conformation that it was successful... Is that normal?

Does anyone know what this update does / addresses?

If I have the right number, it's listed as AT&T 24.2

I've never seen a confirmation for carrier updates. Typically, I check out the software version number before and after though for curiosity.

Apparently, T-Mo and Sprint received updates as well.

According to AT&T,

v. 24.2 - "Enhancement to improve device network performance for iPhone SE."

FWIW, some complain of lower speeds, but you never know...

Upon reading this thread,i picked up my iPhone to see which version I was on. As I talked "general" a pop-up opened to inform me of the carrier update. I tapes yes, and watched the number change, as I was already viewing that setting.

If you guys are curious, AT&T carrier version for a phone on the iOS 10 Beta is at 24.5.27.

There hasn't been a carrier update for Verizon (since 24.1 a little bit ago).

I have 24.5.11 on Verizon & 24.5.27 on AT&T. Maybe that's was released for iOS 10 only?

Right, that's basically what's included in iOS 10.

On AT&T's forums. Come to think of it, that may make it FWIW as well, but it's the most specific piece of info I could find.

I'm on VZW and I'm on Verizon 24.1. My last carrier update was about a month ago.

I can only comment that both ATT and TMO have updated to 24.2, not sure about VZW

If you've installed carrier profiles manually in the past you can just do the Option+Update click and select them. Otherwise you have to enable this command in Terminal first:
