Carrier Update...???

I just plugged in my iPhone for syncing/backup, and I'm already on 3.1.2 and I received the last carrier update around the time 3.1.2 came out, but iTunes prompted me that there is a carrier update available. Have any of you received this in the last few days? IF so, what is it?

Install it and tell us if the number is above 5.6.

I agree, install it and see what carrier file number it is.
I updated a coworkers girlfriend's iPhone 3G to 3.1.2 earlier today and after, it said there was a carrier file update available. I didn't even think to check what version it was, I just assumed it was 5.6.

It is 5.6. Didn't one get released to do MMS? Wasn't that 5.6?

5.5 was the MMS file
