Hi,

I'm strongly considering buying the recently announced iPad 6th gen that supports the Pencil.

However, when looking at potential cases to buy, i'm having a hard time to find a case allowing the Apple Pencil to be carried along the iPad.

Any new cases available for this iPad that can also carry the Apple Pencil?

Won't this iPad fit the cases for the original 9.7" iPad Pro? Cause there are some great cases that also hold the pencil. I like the STM cases.
Not sure:

Apple iPad Pro 9.7 (2016)
  • Dimensions 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm (9.45 x 6.67 x 0.24 in)
Apple iPad 9.7 (2018)
  • Dimensions 240 x 169.5 x 7.5 mm (9.45 x 6.67 x 0.30 in)
Also, not sure if speakers and camera will align. Still, what case you in particular you had in mind?

Did you have any luck finding a case?

Hi MrBat, I'm in the same boat. I too can't find many cases with a place to put the pencil. I'm currently eyeing this one:

It is specifically for the iPad cheapie.

Close but no cigar. That's for the Pro, which is slimmer than the New iPad 6th 2018.

May sound ridiculous but I'm actually holding the purchase of iPad + pencil until I find a suitable case...

That's why I originally asked about the size.

I know companies like Brenthaven have already announced new cases. The one they keep emailing me about has a pencil holder.

Seen a few about: pencil holder, pencil sleeve, pencil sleeve+magnet. Not convinced on any of those.

Looking into it, seems like Apple really did not know what to do with the Pencil when you're not using it... The only official Apple cases for iPad+Pencil are for the Pro, on leather, and cost like 150 USD.

There's the Apple Pencil case, made of leather but that does not look very useful at all. Do I punch a hole and make a necklace out of it? Ridiculous.

I'm holding off on purchasing the Apple Pencil until a good case comes out. I just bought the iPad today and will likely just put a screen protector on it for now and be extra careful until a good case appears. I'll be watching this thread.

It does not sound ridiculous at all, to me. Whenever I buy a new Apple device, by the time it arrives, it has a case and screen protector waiting for it. It goes straight from the box into the case, immediately after which the screen protector is installed. Actually, I guess the order is reversed on that, lol.

Seems we're pretty much on the same boat: out the box, screen protector and cased up.

I stuck a pencil loop on my iPad case. It's out of the way when I'm not using it, and it's there when I need it. I tried using a separate pencil case, but - where do you keep it?!

I'm a big fan of MoKo and Fintie. Excellent quality and fit. Great prices.

I just ordered the MoKo version of that case (the back is transparent with a slight smoke gray tint). I didn't know that MoKo made that Pencil holder. I'll look into getting one, thanks for the pointer! I currently use a Moxiware magnet on my Pencil which has worked very well over the past 2+ years. But I'm always on the look-out for something that works better.

I just ordered and cancelled this one in a matter of 3 minutes. Yes, it has the pencil holder but i just can’t get with the look of it. I ordered another case from Amazon that specifically said it fits the new iPad. I was sent an iPad Pro case. So I’m still on the hunt for a case with the pencil holder. I think I’ll just end buying a regular case and carrying the pencil with me. SMH

I still think this Poetic case looks nice (available in May): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BRDLH88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_wIo2AbJMDYVDX

My only concern is that I’m not sure it’s enough protection for children.

I'm still looking for a casing with apple pencil as well. I always buy casing before my iPad arrives. Preferably something with great impact resistance like UAG Metropolis, which my 2017 iPad currently has.

I fell on the pavement while walking today and took my iPad down with me. Currently I'm sporting a scraped elbow and a skinned knee (even though I was wearing long sleeves shirt and jeans when I fell), but my iPad is pristine, unscratched inside the cocoon of its UAG casing.

Too bad UAG still has not released any 2018 iPad + pencil casing.
