Both might not the best in terms of protection, but the TPU case on the left obviously protects the top and bottom, which the one on the right doesn't.
If you want real protection, you might want to consider a OtterBox Defender or SGP Slim Armor.

I reckon the case on the left will offer you better protection, but you ain't gon' be seein' me with that thing on my phone.
