I have the iPhone 13 and upgraded from the iPhone 11. I always wanted to use the 11 caseless (weight and width savings) but it was like a bar of soap. I am new to the flat edge design and this phone is made for caseless use!

Ironically, I also really wanted an OEM leather case this year since Apple didn’t make one for the 11. But, I really don’t find the leather case for the 13 all that comfortable to hold.

What are your thoughts on caseless with these new phones, especially if you recently upgraded from the round design? Also, the aluminum sides having the benefit on no finger prints (but of course the back glass is glossy).

The flat edge design + the grippy glass backs on the base iPhone models make them a joy to hold case-less. I say go for it if that's what your heart desires.

Ultimately, you have to do what’s best for you and what you enjoy. I’ve used a caseless black XR for work for a couple of years. I love it caseless (probably the size). My midnight green 11 Pro Max on the other hand…I couldn’t go caseless with it as much as I wanted to—went with a forest green leather case from Apple. I went caseless with the pacific blue 12 Pro Max for about six months and eventually got a leather case because I wanted the deep violet color. This year, I have the gold 13 Pro. It’s so much more comfortable than the pro max phones. I’m still deciding about a leather case this year. Personally, I’d only go with a leather case for aesthetics; maybe sequoia green or golden brown (but who wants to cover up a gold phone LoL). My suggestion: do whatever makes you happy and be careful if you decide to go caseless.

Went caseless with my 12 Pro and plan to continue with my 13 Pro. But I also have AppleCare+. I guess you could consider that a very expensive "case".

I ordered a Dark Cherry leather case for my Sierra Blue 13 Pro because I know I'll want to use a case from time to time, but for the most part, I'm going to go caseless. The phone is a nice size and great to hold.

I don't have applecare, and always used cases on previous phones, but I don't with my 13 Mini (and didn't over the last year with my 12 Mini, either). The flat edges make it much easier to pick up and hold onto than the slick bar of soap that was the 6/6s/7/8/11. I carry mine in a leather sleeve, though, when I take it out of the house to avoid scratches when throwing it in a backpack or anything like that.

The peel case is actually a great altenative way for caseless.
make sure to use a tempered glass screen protector

I think the flat edges do make it easier to grip, but I never go caseless. My usage is too rough for a naked phone, and I like the feel in a case better anyway.

Was just saying in another thread that I miss the curved edges of my 11 Pro, but that was with a leather case...

Maybe I will try rocking the 13 Pro caseless since I do have AppleCare+(agree with whomever said that is an "expensive case" lol)

I love this Dark Cherry leather case(bought the matching leather link for my watch cause, well... nerd), but this phone just feels so awkward to me. Maybe it is time to get naked.

I have personally always gone caseless given I always had AppleCare + lol sometimes I use cases but most seem too bulky and I end up taking it off.

I hate the feel of iPhones without a case, so I use one. I also can’t be bothered with the hassle when I’ve smashed the phone after a couple of days. I’m clumsy and I’ve got kids, so not using a case would make me a complete moron. Not too bothered whether other people go caseless though as we all have different tastes and it doesn’t cost me any money if they smash their phones. Hope this helps.

A case gives you grip to hold the phone better my 12 mini had a defender case on it and the two were perfect together like French fries and ketchup!!

I have never put cases on any of my handsets.

They ruin the beauty of design behind the phone.

I'm coming from ip11p and this ip13p feels so much better in the hand

Of course there r negatives 2 being caseless: easy 2 break, scratch, etc.

I may always buy another phone

Enjoy ur new iphone

I have just picked up my product red iPhone 13 earlier today. There isn’t any way I’m covering this beauty up with a case lol. I’m with you in going ceaseless.

Why do so many people need the support of others to use their phone without a case?
The point of this thread isn’t to validate the use of a phone case one way or another. The point is to discuss the new design and how it’s much easier to go without a case compared to the pre-12 design.

I been on the aluminum metal silicone bumper since my iPhone X.

I’m not gonna lie- I wish apple would bring back the official bumpers from the 4S days.

I loved those things.

Looks too skinny, does the camera bump still raise the phone with this case?

I ordered a rubber bumper case which works fine for my purpose (protect around the edges and stabilise the phone when it lies face up).

no because it’s raised up
