I'm on my 2rd replacement (received it today) and have the new Saddle Brown leather apple case coming to me Tuesday. I did not have one on it before and have dropped it once. a piece of aluminum was removed and had to use sand paper to file it down a bit so it won't be so sharp. this aluminum is easy to scratch and scuff. I'm putting a case on it until I get the iP7 next year.

But it makes you wonder, if it's something that's very unaffordable for you, should you even have one?

To be honest most can afford the general use of the phone via their carrier it's just apples charging structure is fairly high when replacing or fixing your device. I'm very careful with my phone so I got insurance but if I did break it my finances would take an almighty hit!!

I'm thinking about going caseless. But mostly because I find case significantly affect my use. I tried the Apple leather case which is one of the best out there and not happy. It makes the phone noticeably bigger and heavier.

I use a wallet case for the utility and the protection and it makes it easier to hold the phone. Past phones I've used cases and gone caseless. But I won't ever go caseless with an iPhone 6.

For one thing it's the first phone I regularly shove into my back pocket and I don't want to end up bending it with my butt when I bend over to pick something up or forget and sit on it.

Only a case with extra battery power. An iPhone with a case feels like a samsung ^^

I wish, I would have a case on mine now. The build quality on Samsung phones now are fantastic. No clicking screen or inconsistent clicking home button on my Samsungs but unfortunately all three of the iPhone 6's I've had/have do have these problems.

Can anyone recommend one of those curved screen protectors made out of glass? I'm thinking that might be my compromise until Apple finally start producing sapphire displays.

Okay, rant time. I had one of these plastic screen protectors for a couple of months. To be exact "Belkin iPhone 6 TrueClear Screen Protector" If only I knew how bad they were before purchasing one. Because of the curved screen, none of them fit 100%, most of the time they only fit the flat part of the screen. Yuck. However, that wasn't the worst part. The absence or the low quality of the oleophobic coating was the main reason these (or the one I bought) protectors were awful.

After tapping a couple of times or a few swipes, the screen becomes blurry and it feels like the screen is low DPI, like the one on iPhone 3GS and earlier. At first I thought that my hands were dirty or just too oily. Guess what! They weren't. But then, I googled a bit and found a web page (Phonearena.com) which explains what this oleophobic coating is and how to see for yourself if your screen still has this coating. Lo and behold this screen protector didn't have any of it remaining (if there was any to begin with). I was curious if my 2 year old iPad Air had any of it left, maybe it was just as bad. Well, after spilling a bit of water, perfectly shaped water drops formed immediately. So, I tore my screen protector off as fast as I could.

I never use screen protectors, but I use a case: generally fairly minimal. The 6 series design is just too darn slippery without one. I also have kids that I sometimes let use my phone, and they tend to be a bit less careful than I would be (though they don't mistreat it).

I'm quite careful with my phone, but I STILL have dropped every iPhone I've owned at least once or twice.

So a case is a must for me. I do not want a broken or dented device. My current case is an Apple Leather Case, which is the perfect way IMO to provide good protection without bulk or ruining the look/feel of the device (in fact, it improves it).

When using the iPhone I prefer it to be naked. I still have a pouch for when it goes back into my pocket. I'm not a fan of fixed covers .
