I noticed that most case companies favor producing cases without built in screen protectors, and that most people on this forum seem to favor cases without them. Why is this? Wouldn't the cases with the built in screen protectors offer more protection? I have always had Otterbox Defender cases for any iPhone I have owned, but wanted to explore different options for my 6. However, I am leery of buying a case without the screen protector. Thoughts?

Not having a built in screen protector lets people choose if they want to use a protector or not, and what type they'd like to use.

As well, a large portion of cases with built in screen protectors tend to suffer from rainbowing, air pillowing, and generally less responsive
