In the blog accompanying the video the owner says that the cat doesn't use its claws when it plays. Still, some people are nuts. If I had a cat, I wouldn't let it anywhere near my mac, nevermind the screen. All that nasty cat hair all over my computer is enough of a deterrent.

My kitty looks the same but is MUCH smarter..

Here's "fido" setting up a network!!

My cat occasionally tries to set up networks...

networks between the steak we're having for dinner, his claws and his tummy. :D

And how exactly are you going to stop the cat? Cat hair gets everywhere. You get used to it after a while.
@ sdashiki - my G5 is on a wooden floor and I'm always cleaning hair off the cheese grater grille, so I don't think the flooring makes any difference.

this is so cute/funny i downloaded it converted it put it on my phone and showed my girlfriend. (we both got kittens not long ago) and we tried it our selfs but our kittens didnt but we can always sit back and laugh at the vid on the phone

The vet didnt even say anything to me when I asked except the cost of course.

Can't let this slide by (as I've never let it slide by in the past).

Why add the "of course" to the end of your statement? If you've got a bad vet., change vets. The (perhaps unintentional) implication that vets prioritize profit over medicine demonstrates a real ignorance of the cost of medicine and the day to day reality most veterinarians face. And it certainly doesn't take into account the pro-bono work most vets do daily (and that's after the ten hour workday is complete, by the way), despite the all too often thin profit line of their buisnesses and livelihoods.

Or, more simply:

How much do you think your human doctor would charge you for the same procedure?

WOW that was a weird video.. it was weird when the cat tried to knaw off the power connector.. Reallly now that Poor Macbook Pro... * wonders if it is still covered by applecare*

You'd have to be plain ignorant to let a cat do that to such an expensive device for that long.

It just amazes me that people would let a MacBook Pro, get attacked like that, and record it.

I believe, though I wouldn't know, that the reason the owner let the laptop get attacked like that is because the cat got declawed. Therefore, don't have to worry about the screen getting scratched. On the other hand, the cat was also jumping around on the comp and at one point attacked the power cord. That was wrong!

Not that I think it was right for the owner to do at all. That was wrong.

you know I think it kind of cute in it own way. It not like they where breaking it. I think they saw there cat getting intersting in it and was enjoying it.

Where they think it all the way though no. It more than likely the cat was declawed so the damage there would not happen. I think the owner though it was pretty cool to watch and was enjoying toying with his cat.

Personly I though it was a pretty cool video. Cats are very cool animals at times.

The person obviously didn't care about the MBP's screen. Although that is somewhat funny, I would never let a kitten near my iBook... not even another person. :D

I think the cat was all over the macbook pro cause it's a kitten and it needs lots of warmth, or should I say, HEAT :)
