I want to buy a AMD Radeon RX5700 XT, I currently run a AMD RX580 on Mojave in my MacPro 5.1 (mid 2010). I heard/read that support for the card was broken in the 10.15.5 update so I'm wondering if it is still possible to get my hand on the 10.15 version of the OS?

Thanks a lot guys.

Unfortunately you can no longer install 10.15.4 or earlier as those versions are no longer signed by Apple. Perhaps 10.15.6 has fixed your issue as it was recently released just yesterday.

Catalina is not natively supported on any cMP. Support for the AMD Navi architecture was not broken in 10.15.5 - I am running an Aorus RX5700XT on my Mac Pro 7,1 and have been since 10.15.3.

I know this, I will most likely install via Dosdude1 patcher. It is just that I saw a comment on the MACVIDCARDS site that was stating this:

"Our friends in Cupertino have broken support for EFI 5700 in 10.15.5.

Stay on 10.15.4 until we get a fix. If your 5700 has a ROM switch and you are on 10.15.5, you can use the PC side to work around for now.

Will update as we find solution
."

So I was wondering, is it a bug affecting only their EFI(flashed) version of the card and I should be able to run a non flashed Radeon RX5700 XT in 10.15.6 (without boot screen).

Alright, so I installed Catalina 10.15.6 via Dosdude1 Catalina Patcher and the Sapphire Radeon RX5700 XT works perfectly.

So I guess the problem was with the EFI(flashed) cards from MACVIDCARDS and PC Cards weren't affected.

I just wanted to give a heads up about this.
