I'm getting ready to upgrade to Catalina from Mojave but there are still some programs I'd hate to lose.

Is it possible to make a virtual machine on Parallels and restore my Mojave to that and then install Catalina?

TIA.

I had the same issue. I followed the directions here and now run my two 32 bit apps in a Mojave virtual.

Depending on the apps, you may have to hunt around on drive to find all the files.

And the key is to do this all on Mojave before you upgrade to Catalina.

Thanks. I had found this procedure elsewhere and I've got a Mojave install on a VM. The glitch is in one app that won't re-register but I'm working on it.
