catlytic converter theft
Couldn't have said it better myself, Pachyderm.
Wow... that's nuts. Thank goodness for low ground clearance...
Around here by time you get under something with a nice catalytic converter and try to get all comfy with your sawzall ready to go, it's likely the owner of that "something" is going to surprise you with a load of buckshot when you're done. Or maybe he'll just send the dog out to see you while he rousts a deputy to come write up the paperwork, which could end up being one of those unfortunate hunting accidents. You gotta be nuts to go up on someone's place looking to mess with their vehicle. Or go for any reason without being invited.
ya'd think wouldn't ya'. a friend of mine had his stolen in broad day light yesterday at his office! in an open parking lot.

three more stolen last week in the same parking lot....
and now i'm hearing from the missus that the company that owns business complex where all this is going on is paying for the victims to get their cars fixed. very cool of them. they have also hired a security firm to watch the lot 24/7.
