iOS catextlayer and attributed string on retina display

I'm having some issues with drawing text and it coming up fuzzy on the retina display.

I make a CATextLayer and set the string property using an NSAttributedString. It shows up fine on iPhone's prior to 4 and fine on iPads.

how do i get it show up properly on an iPhone with retina display?
