I'm liking the Caudabe Sheath for it's thin size, light weight and grip. However, I'm having a hard time believing Caudabe's claim of 6 foot drop protection with this case.

I'm unable to find any drop test videos for the Sheath. Has anyone actually dropped an iPhone encased in Caudabe Sheath from 4-6 feet? If so, any damage? Thanks.

Before upgrading to the 11 pro max, I was using the sheath pretty much 100% of the time on my XS Max. I only dropped the phone twice...well, more like knocked off things...lol.
One time I knocked the phone of a counter in the kitchen on to a tile floor...about 4 feet...no damage. The second time I was at the gym and put the phone into my backpack. After I was done, I picked up my backpack and swung it behind me, on to my shoulder and the phone flew out of the pocket it was in...The phone flew against the wall, and landed on to tiles...probably about a 5 foot drop. Screen protector was cracked but the case was good...no damage to the phone...

Please give it a go and let us know how it works out.
I believe the display or back cameras would be toast if it landed face first or on it's back.

I knocked my xs max with a sheath off the top of a cupboard and it fell about 2ft and hit a opened draw, the screen protector chipped/cracked on the side, that is the weak point the case pulls away easy from the phone and thats what happened. The $40 GSP saved the screen not the case, if it was a case with firmer sides wouldn't of even cracked the GSP, even the apple leather is way firmer. Just my experience and imo anyway.

But then i had for my XR and just ordered another case for my 11 pro with no lip, haha.

Thank you both for sharing your experience with this case. Cheers!

In the old huge iphone XS max thread, there's multiple people who had drops from various heights with the Sheath and I believe they all were fine. We were all initially skeptical of the drop claims for the Sheath. There's even report of cases like phones getting damaged in cases like the Mous Limitless. In the end, its all the luck of each individual drop.

I had a drop from maybe 3 feet high while getting out of the car forgetting my XR is in my lap. It landed face down and my phone was fine..including the screen. But I was lucky that there were no rocks or pebbles.

I searched the XS Max thread and found the examples you mentioned. Brings a peace of mind that the Sheath can protect from a 4-5 foot drop. Thank you.

It’s not so much an issue of the case as much as the way it falls and the surface it falls on. I’ve seen displays break in otterboxes and others survive falls in thin cases. Every situation is different. That said, I’ve dropped mine several times in a sheath and it’s still solid so take that for what it’s worth.

I have the Caudabe Sheath on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Last weekend my 3 year old knocked my phone out of my hands and it fell flat on its back onto the hardwood floor. It was a little above 4 feet. I was for sure something broke. Picked up the phone and took the case off and examined for damage. None. No damage at all.

I’m thinking of getting the nomad active rugged. But not because I dont like the sheath. It’s a great case and I like it a lot. That’s why I bought it again. I used it for a year on my XS Max and I just want to try something different.

I was looking at the active rugged as well. I think I might just pull the trigger this weekend and try it.

Those sold out fast! Lol

They haven't actually sold out yet, it's more that they haven't started selling them yet. Those are basically placeholders for whats to come.

Also I've had three shealth cases so far, and dropped my phone numerous times and not a single scratch, though I have a glass screen protector too.
