Apparently DP2 introduces some changes to Disk Images.

1. I created a disk image under 10.9.2 (some files I had backed up)
- Under 10.8.4 I was unable to mount it. Some I/O error. I thought the image might be damaged but disk warrior was unable to recover it and a Carbon Copy process failed, telling me that the image was damaged too badly.
- Under 10.9.1 I tried both options once again. Failed.
- Under 10.9.2 I was finally able to mount the image again. No problem at all!

Anybody else noticed this?

@macrons:
1st: It is not 10.9.1 or 10.9.2.
2nd: It is 10.9.0 DP1 and 10.9.0 DP2.
3rd: Apple changed some things in CoreStorage (kernel extensions, frameworks, tools). Send your feedback to Apple!
4th: Thanks for the warning.
