Just a word of caution. Do NOT try and use any of the glass screen protectors currently available for the new iPad Pros. The touch response becomes SERIOUSLY wonky. It is so bad I thought I had a hardware issue with my brand new 11" iPad Pro.

Where did you get yours? At the Apple store or somewhere else?

You've tried them all? Or you tried one and expanded your results to include all of them?
I have tried 2 respectable brands that I have always bought on Amazon and they both behaved the same way. As an engineer of 20 years, this is enough for me to deduct that none of the current offerings are going to work, and that most likely Apple has implemented something in the touch screen that is causing this behavior. Thanks!

The Apple store does not sell any. Which also says something.

Are you using one on a new iPP?

I’m from the UK and purhsed one type on Amazon

As soon as there is a greasy mark from my finger I can’t scroll the page up or down, this is the screen protectors fault

Can confirm these issues as well. Bought some screen protectors that had very good reviews in the past for the Pro models and they are unusable. Scrolling would get really unresponsive and pinch to zoom wouldn’t work at all if the fingers were too close together.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I prepurchased some from Amazon UK ready for today. Once installed FaceID has stopped working with an error of ‘camera covered’ appearing. Touch response is also poor. After looking at the reviews of the ones I purchased and similar models, I agree, it sounds like they’re all having problems.

Yes, Apple has changed something in the technology of these new screens that right now makes screen protectors a no go. I suspect this is going to go viral soon. I feel very sorry for all the trusted glass screen protector manufacturers on Amazon right now. Yikes!

I only use film protectors. So much easier to install and replace.
Can you recommend one for the 11”? I just ordered one myself off Amazon. Hoping it won’t cause the issues glass does.

Yikes. Mine just arrived yesterday and I had planned to apply it tonight. I think I tossed the envelope out in the trash already so I can't return it. Wonder what they changed - I've been using tempered glass screen protectors for years on iPad and iPhone.

Even on my 12.9" and 9.7" Pro's I could use the Pencil just fine with a glass protector. Bummer.

From what I can see in the UK there are no film type protectors at present,

that always changes tho a week or so later once the companies get the correct dimensions

Yeah I was bummed out too. I tried two different brands and a total of three different screen protectors. They all caused touch issues.
[doublepost=1541629240][/doublepost]I feel extremely naked without a screen protector on this thing. Not good.

I am using an iCarez matte (non-glass) screen protector and am having no issues with touch. There’s a notch in it where the front camera is but Face ID is not working. Doesn’t bother me not to have it working.

Matte screen protectors do make the display less crisp, but I have fuzzy eyesight so it doesn’t bother me like it does some people.

maybe its the IPS technology, longer response time.
edit: and in combo with why the pencil 2 isn't backwards compatible?

I ordered this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01ICTPTBK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I’ve got it installed and all working fine (Face ID and gestures/scrolling/tapping all work fine).

Hope you find one that works for you

I have the 11”. Have you tried using your iPad with it sitting flat or slightly angled like on an uneven couch? Try scrolling in like Safari and see if you don’t notice some issues.

No idea, but whatever it is it sucks. I have noticed that it only behaves weird when sitting almost flat too. As soon as you pick the iPad up and use is vertically it seems to respond fine.

No, it does not. I get along with it on my Surface Go, it works amazingly well there. If I can get it to work without removing the screen protector, I will. If not, I’m absolutely fine with it not working.
