There's already PlayStation Vue, while they have not launched an Apple TV app yet the login works for every Apple TV app. Comcast its trialling a service, Hulu is planning to launch a cable service, and at&t/Directv are also planning a service.

I certainly wouldn't mind subscribing to a streaming service from a traditional cable/satellite service, or Playstation Vue. But I'd want to be able to pick my channels. Otherwise it's just cable/satellite over the internet.

Wow, I didn't realize you could log in with PlayStation Vue credentials on Apple TV apps. That's really good to know actually. Thanks.

The real crux of my dissatisfaction of this is that I'm paying a subscription and still have to watch commercials. Its not even having to watch the commercials as much as the time it takes to get through an episode being about 20% longer because of the commercials. If I use my Tivo, I can chose to watch them or skip them. If I pay CBS for this app subscription, I am forced to see the commercials... bad business model from a consumer standpoint.
What I did was watch season 1 on Netflix got hooked then TiVo OTA Roamio Season 2 which lets me skip the ads completely. I refuse to even try CBS all access if they keep the ads. Only if it ad free I will try it even if it cost a bit more like I do with Hulu.

Your Vue credentials will work on all apps except for the beIN and Epix apps (as long as the channel is part of your plan):

This is why I subscribed to Vue. I don't even use the actual service much. I just wanted access to the apps. For $30 a month, it's a good deal considering you also get access to all of the apps.

I agree. I don't think they are getting many paying customers for this service. After my one month trial was up, they offered me an additional free month when I went to cancel it.

The AppleTV4 app is sorely in need of an update... It plays episodes in backwards order... Their tech support says they know about it and are working on it...
