Just got email notification for an update to Piriform's CC Cleaner, and checked their site to see if there was one for the Mac. And there is! Checked here and don't see anything leaping out at me as to whether or not it is a good idea, functions, whatever. Anybody think CC Cleaner for Mac is a good thing? Bad? Indifferent? Thanks!

It s well know CC Cleaner is adware!

Funny, I have used this product in the past and never heard anything about it being adware. I also can't really find anything with a quick search. Can you post something up to suppor this? In the past, it has been a solid product to use.

Then look in your Finder! Many user reported strange audio problems traced back to that program!

Still not had a problem using it. People having problems with audio is very vague and not generally adware. Could be a conflict with another app. Again, I have used it for years and even on Malware Bytes it is considered a well known app. My adivce is to only download it from Piriform directly and not from some other location. THAT could contain adware.
[doublepost=1505389416][/doublepost]Okay, I did a search on this site and I can't find anything bad about CCleaner. In fact, I did find many threads recommending it. Not trying to be a jerk on this @satcomer, I am just trying to validate your remark. I always try to stay on top of things like this as I use tools like this from time to time. So, if you have something that points to it being adware, please post it up. I would love to look further into it.

I've used the Windows version for years with great results.

From my limited use of the Mac version, as far as I can tell, it does not seem to offer anything that Onyx isn't able of doing (but Onyx can do like 30 times more.) And it does not seem to offer many benefits over Sierra's own 'purge' feature. I've not used the uninstall feature, as I use a program called 'App Cleaner' with uninstalls because it finds remnant files that the traditional uninstall does not remove, allowing me to see where those files are, and choose which, if any, to delete. And I don't think that can really be improved upon.

The Windows version has always worked great, however, the Mac version is not worth the time it takes to download it. Use OnyX instead. That's a tried and true utility for the Mac.

Totally agree with the above. Onyx is another great program that I would choose over CCleaner but CCleaner rocks on windows.
